OTR fuel stations ground to a halt on Thursday morning as a technical issue downed its EFTPOS units.

Customers told The Advertiser stores were cash only, with photos showing signs taped to petrol pumps advising of the issue.

“They’re turning away people with fuel if not paying by cash,” one customer said.

OTR was contacted for comment but the Advertiser understands a third party issue had brought down units across all OTR locations.

It is not known how much the outage cost the company in lost sales.
