Man killed after car crashes into tree at Aldinga, catches alight

An Aldinga man has died after his car crashed into a tree and burst into flames.

A man has died after his car crashed into a tree at Aldinga and caught alight.

Police and emergency services were called to Port Rd just before 7.30am after reports the car and left the road, hit a tree and was in flames.

The driver and sole occupant, a 68-year-old local man, sadly died at the scene

Major Crash investigators are investigating the cause of the crash.

Port Rd was closed to all traffic for a number of hours but has since reopened.

The man’s death is the 90th life lost on South Australian roads this year compared with 79 at the same time last year.
