A BURST water main has caused traffic chaos after it ruptured near a major eastern suburbs intersection.

A BURST water main has caused traffic chaos after it ruptured near a major eastern suburbs intersection.

The main ruptured near the intersection of Glen Osmond and Fullarton roads at Eastwood just before 11am on Thursday.

Water was sent cascading over the road until SA Water technicians isolated the flow.

Both northbound lanes and one southbound lane of Fullarton Rd, between Greenhill and Glen Osmond roads, have been closed to traffic while repairs are completed.
