Burst water main closes westbound lanes at the intersection of North Terrace and Frome Road
A burst water main in the city caused chaos for commuters on Friday morning, with flooding the road and local residents and businesses left without water.

Commuters were warned of serious traffic delays after a water main burst on a busy intersection in Adelaide’s CBD on Friday.
SA Police warned motorists of a burst water main at the intersection of North Terrace and Frome Rd.
Westbound traffic is down one lane on North Terrace between East Terrace and Frome Rd – with a significant amount of water flooding the road.
This has also caused a tree to fall over and block the southbound lane of Frome Rd.
Emergency crews are attending the area.
A SA Water spokesperson said water had been shut off to the area.
“Around 96 customers are temporarily without water,” they told The Advertiser.
“Our Community Support team is providing residents and small businesses with an interim supply of cask water, as well as arranging a tanker for student apartments and larger businesses, including impacted properties on nearby Rundle Street.
“We apologise for the inconvenience, and assure people we’re working as quickly and safely as possible to complete these works.”
Drivers are urged to avoid this intersection.
