Border Gavaskar Trophy series star Travis Head’s cheeky celebration after Test heroics
Travis Head has gained a reputation for his post series celebrations and now the star batsman has found a new way to cool his “hot finger”.

Aussie Test star Travis Head has basked in Australia’s convincing 3-1 series win over India, celebrating with what has become his signature celebration this summer.
Head took to social media to post his finger in a beer glass with the caption “Ooppss”.
The South Australian batsman was one of the heroes of the series as Australia went on to win 3-1 and win the Border Gavaskar Trophy.
Head had plenty to celebrate as the highest run scorer of the series with 448 runs at an average of 56 from his nine innings.
However, it was his bizarre celebration while bowling during the Boxing Day Test which drew attention.
Head celebrated the key wicket of Indian danger man Rishabh Pant by sticking his finger through a hole in his other hand.
It was later revealed by Australian captain Pat Cummings the celebration was his reference to Head’s “hot spinning finger”.
“It’s his finger’s so hot he’s got to put it in a cup of ice. That’s what it is,” Cummings told the media at the post Boxing Day Test match press conference.
“That’s normally the running joke. He was at the Gabba or somewhere and he got a wicket as well and he just goes straight to the fridge, grabs a bucket of ice, puts his finger in and just walks in front of (Nathan Lyon).
On Sunday night, after Australia’s emphatic series victory Head was at it again, this time cooling his finger down in a beer glass while taking selfies with teen sensation Sam Konstas who dazzled fans with his ramp shots during his 60 run innings on debut.
Head’s latest celebration trend comes after photos of the batsman revelling in Australia’s 2023 ODI World Cup victory took social media by storm.
