Police are investigating claims of stalking in the state’s most marginal Federal seat.
Sitting Liberal MP for Boothby Nicolle Flint today reported to police that she was being stalked during the Federal Election campaign.
A SA Police spokesman confirmed the investigation when contacted by The Advertiser.
“Police can confirm a report of stalking has been made by a 40-year-old,” he said.
“The matter is currently under investigation.”
Ms Flint’s office declined to comment when contacted by The Advertiser, saying it was a police matter.
Boothby is the state’s most marginal seat in this election, with Ms Flint holding it by just 2.8 per cent.
It has resulted in campaigns by Labor, unions and GetUp! to unseat the conservative Liberal.
Ms Flint’s police report comes after a volunteer for Centre Alliance MP for Mayo Rebekha Sharkie was charged with stalking Liberal candidate Georgina Downer.
