WHERE TO PARTY ON AUSTRALIA DAY

The Ramsgate Hotel, Henley Beach Square

What could be more Australian than thong throwing competitions and meat tray raffles? The Ramsgate will have both on offer for patriotic patrons and there will also be live music from 2-9pm, plus the triple j Hottest 100 on the radio and the Australia v Pakistan clash on the big screen.

The Moseley Bar and Kitchen, Moseley Square, Glenelg

Relax beachside with the Moseley’s brekkie starting from 8am, followed by their extensive lunch menu. Party through the day with cocktails & eats on their balcony until sunset, then dance the night away with their DJs cranking tunes from 4pm.

The Alma, Magill Rd, Norwood

Everything you need to celebrate Australia Day will be in plentiful supply at this popular suburban venue, from cricket on the big screens, live streaming triple j’s Hottest 100 all day, deck chairs, beer, paddling pool & sausage sizzles. And if you’re looking to secure a spot at this year’s Groovin the Moo music festival, The Alma is giving away 100 tickets to some lucky patrons. Open from 11am, there’s also lots of beer, wine and spirit specials to quench your thirst.

Curious Squire, O’Connell St, North Adelaide

Toast Australia’s first brewer, James Squire, at this venue’s Australia Day celebrations, with the entire James Squire range on tap all day from 10am. There’s also the chance to win some cash thanks to their new ‘Convict x Brewer’ game. The rules are simple: buy a glass of James Squire, flip the coin and score yourself some loot! Triple j Hottest 100 will be playing through the speakers and the cricket will be on the big screens.

The Gully Public House & Garden, North East Rd, Tea Tree Gully

It’s a family day at the refurbished Gully with free arts and crafts for the kids, while the parents can enjoy live music, tasty dishes and of course, plenty of Aussie beers.

The Oxford Hotel, O’Connell St, North Adelaide

The food will have a distinctly Australian flavour with Aussie Oxford Pie floaters, One Day International cricket burger and beer deals, while there will also be Australian Open Tennis bucket blitzes. Relax with some live tunes from 8pm or listen to the triple j Hottest 100 all day.

Australia Day at Adelaide Casino

If you can’t make it over the bridge, head to the casino’s Grandstand Bar to watch all the Aussie sporting action with a $5 pints of Aussie tap beers all day between 11am and 7pm. Kick on tonight for their ‘Thursday Tribute Night’ in the OASIS Outdoor Bar, this week featuring the Aussie Tribute Band playing all of the greatest true blue hits you know and love from 7pm.

Sean’s Kitchen, North Terrace

Forget triple j’s annual music countdown, this popular restaurant will have Sean’s (owner and chef Sean Connolly) Hottest 100 playing from 11am, the perfect complement for their $28 BBQ meat plate and Coopers Pale Ale.
