Aussie rockers Jet and indigenous rapper Baker Boy will headline a new Gather Round concert that will close SA’s Festival of Footy in April.
The free show, Gather Live, will be held on Adelaide Oval No. 2. following the final match of the round, Collingwood and Hawthorn, on Sunday, April 7.
Gather Round ticket holders will have first crack at redeeming their free ticket to the concert through Ticketek from 12pm on Friday, March 1.
The public can secure their spot at the event from 12pm on Monday, March 4.
Eight of the nine Gather Round matches are already sold out, with tickets only available to the Magpies v Hawks clash.
AFL customer and commercial executive general manager Kylie Rogers said there will be no better place to celebrate Gather Round than at the closing concert, which will kick off at 7.30pm.
“Gather Live will give more fans the opportunity to get involved and soak up the electric atmosphere that Gather Round has to offer,” she said.
SA Premier Peter Malinauskas said the show was the perfect way to cap off the state’s Festival of Footy.
“Gather Live is just another way the AFL is making Gather Round even bigger and better this year,” he said.
After performing at the 2021 AFL Grand Final, Essendon supporter Baker Boy said he was pumped to again be entertaining footy fans.
“I can’t wait to hit the stage and maybe even catch a game or two,” said the performer also known as singer-songwriter Danzal Baker.
“I love the idea and energy of everyone coming together for one round, it’s going to be huge.”
