An Adelaide woman is living the dream, taking a sickie after discovering she was the winner of Lotto’s $1.25 million first division prize.

A South Australian woman has pulled an understandable “sickie” after she became a millionaire at the weekend.

The Jamestown woman was made an instant millionaire when she won $1.25m in Lotto draw 4243 after buying one of 16 division one winning entries.

She bought her ticket at the Jamestown Newsagency.

“I could barely say anything after they told me," the lucky winner said.

“I’m not going to work today. I’m just going to buy some lovely champagne and then I’ll call a few people to let them know this great news.

“The first thing we will do is pay off our mortgage … we might think of getting a new car and maybe we’ll go on a holiday or two.”

Jamestown Newsagency manager Linda Batten said the entire team was thrilled for the winner.

“This is our first division one winning entry we’ve ever sold,” she said.
