Adelaide woman Hazel Passmore dismantled social media as pressure increased over Belanglo-Wynarka murder investigation

ADELAIDE woman Hazel Passmore dismantled her social media presence as she came under increasing pressure over the Belanglo-Wynarka murder investigation.

ADELAIDE woman Hazel Passmore dismantled her social media presence as she came under increasing pressure over the Belanglo-Wynarka murder investigation.

Ms Passmore, 33, had two active Facebook pages on Thursday when her name first surfaced as a person of interest in the murders of young mother Karlie Pearce-Stevenson and her daughter, Khandalyce Pearce.

By Friday morning, with media camped outside her Davoren Park home, one of the pages had been deleted while the second had been heavily edited to remove multiple photos.

The pictures included two images of Khandalyce taken at a car show in Alice Springs in August, 2008 — four months before Ms Pearce-Stevenson was allegedly murdered by Ms Passmore’s former partner, Daniel Holdom, in the Belanglo State Forest, NSW.

Other pictures posted by Ms Passmore included images of Holdom with her two children, Willow, 9, and Ryan, 7, at an Alice Springs primary school sports day in April, 2008 — five months before they were killed in a fatal crash in SA’s Far North.

Holdom was driving a Toyota 4WD south of Marla on September 15, 2008, when it rolled, killing Willow and Ryan and leaving Ms Passmore and her 10-month-old daughter, Lauryn, with serious injuries.

They were flown to Alice Springs for hospital treatment, with Ms Passmore left crippled and confined to a wheelchair.

Her main Facebook page — which featured a tribute to her two dead children — showed how she had travelled extensively with them between 2006 and 2007 along the eastern coast, from Canberra, in the ACT, to Townsville in Far North Queensland.

Other pictures showed Holdom with her children camping at locations in SA, including Quorn and Taree.

Her Facebook friends included individuals she had met in Tin Can Bay, Gympie, Townsville, Alice Springs and Adelaide. These were deleted by Friday morning.

Media attempting to track Ms Passmore’s movements spoke to neighbours in Davoren Park, who told them a large contingent of detectives had parked unmarked police cars outside her house last week.

On Thursday afternoon she was filmed by one television station speaking with two lawyers, including criminal barrister Bill Boucat, SC, in a northern suburbs park.

Vision of Ms Passmore was broadcast nationally by the Sunrise breakfast program on Friday morning as she left Davoren Park in a Holden Commodore station wagon driven by her partner.

Within four hours she was taken to the Adelaide police station in Wakefield St where she presented herself to Major Crime detectives investigating the murders of Ms Pearce and Khandalyce.
