Adelaide was treated to a spectacular sunset on Friday night and dozens of people had their cameras at the ready to captue the moment.
Senior Forecaster at the Bureau of Meteorology Mark Anolak said dense rain from the western side of the state caused high cloud blow off, in turn gifting us with Friday’s picturesque skies.
“It was a combination of high level cloud allowed sun to reflect these beautiful colours,” he said.
“Colourful sunsets work well with mid and high level cloud.”
Mr Anolak added that the angle of the sun reflecting across the high level clouds caused the sky to give off the purple aura.
