Below zero: SA freezes in coldest morning in years
Early risers have woken to the coldest morning in years, with below zero temperatures hitting towns and regions across the state.

South Australians have woken to the coldest morning in years, with the temperature dropping below zero in some areas.
The city hit a minimum of 2.6C about 5.50am – but the suburbs were even colder with Parafield recording a below freezing -0.4C.
And it was colder again in the state’s South-East, with Keith dropping to -1.8C at 7.40am.
The Hills with Mount Lofty recorded a low of 1.1C.
BOM senior forecaster Simon Timcke told FIVEaa morning radio Tuesday’s temperatures were the coldest in a few years, and warned of frost and fog.
“We haven’t had a morning as cold as this in the city since August 27 back in 2021,” he said.
He said there was frost and fog around the eastern slopes of the Mount Lofty Rangers.
“Take a little bit of extra care if you’re driving in fog on your morning commute.”
A top of 14C is predicted for the city, however, Mr Timcke said afternoon would see some sunshine with very little cloud.
Mount Barker is expecting a maximum of just 11C.
Conditions are tipped to be similar on Wednesday with another predicted high of 14C and a low of 4C.
However temperatures will rise later in the week slightly, with the mornings not as cold.
A low of 6C is tipped for Thursday, 8C for Friday and 9C and 10C for Saturday and Sunday. Day time temperatures as are predicted to reach 17C on Friday.
