Vibrant rainbows spill from blooming pop art flowers in the winning poster design for next year’s Adelaide Fringe.
Adelaide-born and raised graphic designer and digital illustrator Alana Naylor, who now lives in Cairns, won the competition with her entry titled Fleurs de Fringe.
Fringe director Heather Croall said Ms Naylor’s work was chosen from more than 300 entries and used simple shapes inspired by native flora and bold colour to portray the sense of vibrancy and energy synonymous with the event.
“The brief for 2023 was to represent Fringe as ‘the sunshine after the rain’ and, after much deliberation, we decided that Alana’s work encapsulated that message beautifully,” Ms Croall said.
Ms Naylor, 33, will receive $6000 from the Fringe’s principal partner BankSA and free registration for an exhibition at the festival, which runs from February 17 to March 19.
“I never in a million years would have thought I’d win,” Ms Naylor said.
“While surreal, it’s an absolute honour to be such a significant and visual part of an event that has been close to my heart for so long.”
