Individuals will be able to request up to five free tickets for the Christmas Pageant at Adelaide Oval in a 36-hour online ballot later this month.
Ballot registrations for the 20,000 available tickets will open at 10am on Thursday, October 29, and end at 10pm on Friday, October 30 at christmaspageant.com.au
Out of these, 3300 tickets will be available for pageant sponsor National Pharmacies’ members in a separate ballot to be conducted through its own site.
Pageant director Brian Gilbertson said the ballot would provide the fairest and safest method for a maximum number of people to attend the twilight event on November 14.
“The number of spectators that will be allowed to attend the event has been determined as a COVID-safe number for an event of our size and format,” Mr Gilbertson said.
“Once registrations close, the ballot system will electronically and randomly select those people who will attend.”
Successful and unsuccessful applicants will be advised in the days after registrations close and tickets will be sent out digitally a week before the pageant.
“We have worked hard to deliver a fair process for our South Australian community to access these tickets,” Mr Gilbertson said.
“You do not need to rush registration, everyone has an opportunity to register.”
National Pharmacies chief executive Vito Borrello said the Christmas Pageant would also be broadcast live in SA on Channel 9.
“If you are attending Adelaide Oval, or experiencing the National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant at home, the message we really want to share is the same – to celebrate, embrace and connect with your family and friends on this day,” Mr Borrello said.
