A single car has been involved in a serious crash near Coober Pedy

The Stuart Highway is closed to all traffic in the state’s Far North after a serious car crash.

Emergency services are at the scene of a serious crash on the Stuart Hwy 100km north of Coober Pedy.

Police were made aware of the crash at Mt Willoughby just after 11am.

The Advertiser understands the accident involves a single car.

Paramedics and police are currently at the scene.

The Stuart Hwy is closed to all traffic between Marla and Coober Pedy.

Major Crash Investigators are currently making their way to the scene.

It comes after a 22-year-old woman was killed after her car hit a tree north of Adelaide on Thursday night.

The woman died at the scene of the crash about 10pm.

The female driver, from Uleybury, was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
