A showcase of light will open in Adelaide city on Friday, brightening our space in winter

Adelaide city will be illuminated and splashed in colour after dark as the popular winter festival’s immersive installations return on Friday.
City Lights is part of the Illuminate Adelaide program from July 15-31 and showcases over 40 free exhibits from local and international artists in laneways, open spaces and street-fronts in the east, west and north precincts.
A stunningly designed snowdome that can be found at the University of Adelaide measures nine meters tall and 14m wide.
Created by Jacques Rival, We Love Adelaide scale is similar to a regular snowdome – just 101,857,042 per cent bigger!
Tourism Minister Zoe Bettison said the winter spectacle will be memorable one for those who attend.
“This citywide spectacle of art, light, sound and imagination is a not-to-miss event that continues to shine a light on South Australia through a whole new series of immersive installations, artworks and large-scale activations,” she said.
“These are all industries that we are very keen to support and invest in going forward as they are bound to change and better our children’s lives and future.
“We invite everyone to immerse themselves into this extraordinary visual kaleidoscope and celebrate innovation, art, light, music and technology here in South Australia.”
Free public transportation is being offered for those travelling to the CBD on each Saturday evening of City Lights.
South Australians have 17 days to rug up and view the stunning installations scattered across the city.
