A neighbour living in the same street where a person was shot in the leg after a group of people allegedly entered a house on Thursday, says police are “always” at the house.
At about 4.45pm, police and emergency services were called to a home on Brabham Crescent, Gulfview Heights with reports that a person had been shot by a group of people who entered the house.
A person has been shot inside a house in Adelaide’s northern suburbs, with the victim being taken to hospital after sustaining a gunshot wound to the leg.
Speaking outside the home, neighbour Ben Colangelo said the house was always busy with people “coming and going”, and that there was always a police presence in the street.
“I’m not really surprised about it to be honest, considering … I don’t know … what’s been going on there,” he said.
“There’s always police here … always police here … it’s for the same house all the time.
“Hopefully it comes to an end because I’m kind of just sick of seeing cops everywhere and just people coming and going from that house.
“It's just not really safe for other people around, especially if there’s shots being fired.”
Mr Colangelo said he was coming home from work when he pulled into the street, which is to find police everywhere.
South Australia Police will allege that a group of people had broken in and discharged a firearm injuring one occupant.
The suspects left the scene prior to police arrival, with the victim being taken to hospital with a non-life-threatening leg injury.
Early investigations into the incident allege that the attack was not random.
It comes on the same day SA Police arrested and charged three adults and three youths with attempted murder over a shooting at Andrews Farm in December 2021, where an innocent person was shot in the leg after bullets sprayed his house with bullets.
The six suspects were arrested as part of Operation Meld, with SA Police Acting Assistant Commissioner John De Candia alleging that the suspects were linked to street gangs.
Currently, there is still a large police presence at Gulfview Heights, with streets blocked off.
