Adelaide is set for a warmer week ahead with the weather predicting mostly above 30-degree days.
Beachgoers have already been hitting the water over the weekend as Jessica Nowland and her friends spent the day at Henley Beach on Saturday and said it was the “ideal” day for a swim.
“It was beautiful and with all the rain last week I think we’re just excited to see the sun out and have some sunshine,” Ms Nowland said.
“We went today again actually and it was beautiful and we’ll definitely go back over the next few days as it warms up even more.”
Bureau of Meteorology forecasts a hot 34 on Monday, 30 on Tuesday, 32 on Wednesday and a scorcher 35 on Thursday before dropping down to 29 with a shower or two on Friday.
The coolest day is expected to be on Saturday with temperatures dropping to 21 degrees with a low of 14 in Adelaide, with similar conditions on Sunday.
“We’ve just finished uni and were both sort of in our holiday time at the moment and so just really enjoying being able to get out in the sun and it’s so nice to see everyone down there enjoying the warmer weather.
Ms Nowland, who is originally from Alice Springs, says the beach was still a “novelty” for her so she says she will spend a lot of time at the beach over the summer period.
“I think Adelaide beaches are beautiful. I think we’ve got such diverse beaches and where we’re living in Adelaide, it’s so lovely that you’ve got a 15-minute drive to the beach and a 20-minute drive to the mountains.
“I feel so lucky to be here.”
Also on Saturday, Remi Smith, 2 and his best mate, Sonny Renfrey spent the day at Henley with their parents.
