A towering 29-storey five-star hotel and apartment block aims to target luxury clientele and residents, with sweeping views of the Adelaide parklands and hills.
Auriga Investments has received approval from the State Commission Assessment Panel for its development at 299 Pirie St, formerly the home of the Red Cross in Adelaide.
The building, to be known as Acadia, will have 242 hotel rooms, 75 residential apartments, 14 affordable studio apartments, a restaurant, bar and meeting rooms.
Auriga Investments co-director Eric Luk said they were targeting a five-star hotel operator for the site, “complementing the luxury demographic being targeted for the apartments”.
“This will be an integrated hotel and apartment project, which will provide world standard benefits to a select few owner-occupiers,” Mr Luk said.
“The innovative vertical design will celebrate and highlight it’s strategic position on the cusp of the parklands and Adelaide Hills maximising views and benefits of East End living.”
The project is expected to take 36 months to complete, with costs determined after the tendering process, Mr Luk said.
Michael Loucas, of Loucas Zahos Architects, worked on designs for the 29-storey hotel and accommodation building.
