This year’s showbags have officially been launched by a team of tiny experts.
Kids from Reception at Loreto College and from Camp Quality were on hand on Thursday to help with the launch and have a look at what’s on offer.
Five-year-old Knox, from Camp Quality, ran to get a Spider-Man and Army showbag.
Knox was diagnosed with leukaemia in April 2020 but his mum, Amanda Lawless, said it doesn’t slow him down.
“He would be having chemo in the hospital and literally running laps around a nurses’ station,” Ms Lawless said.
“He does not stop.”
Jade, 4, said she is very excited to try the rides at the show, especially the ferris wheel.
Jade, from Glenelg East, has langerhans cell histiocytosis. She was diagnosed at age 3½ but her mum, Mel Briggs, said she is coming out of treatment soon.
Georgia, aged 6, said she is excited to go to the show for all the lollies – her favourite is Cherry Ripe.
The Show’s marketing manager Jordan Philp said there is a showbag for every taste and budget.
“You can get anything from $3, $5. Your average is probably $20,” she said.
Ms Philp said the classic Bertie Beetle bag starts at $3 and there are many inexpensive confectionary bags this year including Cadbury, KitKats, Flake and more.
The most expensive bag is a Lindt jumbo bag, at $125.
“There are 421 bags and 126 bags that are brand new to the Royal Adelaide Show.” Ms Philp said.
Ms Philp said ticket sales are tracking well compared with 2019.
“We really think it’s going to be a bumper year, hopefully our biggest yet.” she said.
