SA ready for change: Opposition Leader

OPPOSITION Leader Steven Marshall has released an action plan for the first 100 days of a Liberal government, in which he says work would begin on cutting taxes and lifting services.

The document is the third glossy Mr Mashall has used in his pitch for power, following the 2036 values manifesto and his “strong plan for real change” released a fortnight ago.

Mr Marshall said he planned to “hit the ground running” if the Liberals win on March 17.

“The people of SA deserve a government which is going to look after them, create more jobs, lower their cost of living (and) improve government services,” Mr Marshall said.

“They’ve been let down by Labor over the last 16 years, one of the most dysfunctional governments in the history of Australia. It’s time to hit the reset button. Enough is enough.

“The only party at this election which has a strong team and a strong plan for real change is the Liberal Party. “We’ve got an action plan to make it happen.

“We’ve got a plan to hit the ground running and make sure that we do deliver.

“There is a lot in our plan, because there is a lot to do.”

SA election: Xenophon and Marshall go head-to-head

He said first steps would include cutting ESL bills and rolling out a home battery subsidy scheme for residents with solar panels, as well as further reform in the health system.

“Repairing the damage done to our health system by Labor’s catastrophic Transforming Health program is essential if South Australians are going to have shorter waiting times when they go to an emergency department or need life-changing surgery,” Mr Marshall said.

“Letting South Australians shop when they want, not just when Labor’s union bosses and Nick Xenophon think they should, will create new jobs for our kids and greater convenience for time poor families.

“At the last state election Labor promised to continue building South Australia but delivered the nation’s worst unemployment, highest electricity bills and chaos in our health system.”

“Labor cannot be trusted to run our state again.”
