A Queensland man accused of knowingly spreading sexually transmitted diseases to women he met online has also been charged with rape, a court has heard.

Mackay Magistrates Court on Monday heard 24-year-old Zak Jordan Winsley was facing charges including making observations or recordings of the genital or anal region in breach of privacy in Campwin Beach on October 26 last year.

Also at Campwin Beach, Mr Winsley was weeks later charged with rape on November 16 and possessing dangerous drugs on November 18.

Then on January 20 this year, he was charged with one count of distributing intimate images.

The court heard these charges were in addition to Mr Winsley’s matters that are next scheduled to come before court on November 27.

Those matters refer to Mr Winsley being charged with two counts of distributing online images as well as two counts of acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm or transmit serious disease.

It is alleged Mr Winsley had sexual relationships with numerous young women from Airlie Beach to the Sunshine Coast on dates between November 2022 and July 2023.

It is further alleged he did not disclose to them he had a sexually transmitted infection.

Magistrate Bronwyn Hartigan on Monday adjourned the case involving Mr Winsley’s charges of rape, making observations or recordings, possessing dangerous drugs and distributing intimate images at Campwin Beach to August 28.
He is yet to enter pleas.
