Many homeowner’s greatest fear is waking to hear someone intruding in their house while they’re home.
For one Warwick couple, the terrifying reality occurred at the weekend, leaving them shaken and detectives investigating.
Police are chasing up on reports of a break and enter at a Yangan Rd property on August 3, between the hours of midnight and 1am.
Police believe two offenders have entered the home in east Warwick, while the occupants were asleep.
It is alleged the offenders have stolen clothes, shoes, electronic devices and gel blasters, valued at “more than $2000”.
The residents have woken up in the middle of the offending, disturbed the uninvited guests causing them to run from the property, police say.
Acting Senior sergeant Tim Hoffman said the young couple at the address had some description of the alleged offenders, and confirmed police were looking into the matter.
The pair are described as a slim built person wearing black clothes, and a solid built person in a black jumper and grey pants.
Police are appealing to the public for any dashcam footage of CCTV in the area, or locals who have seen any suspicious activity to come forward.
