A DEADLY single-vehicle rollover which claimed the life of young Southbrook man Justin Moore occurred at night, investigators have found.
Extensive investigations have determined 18-year-old Mr Moore’s last movements on Sunday, October 6, before he was found dead by his vehicle the next morning.
TRIBUTES FOR TEEN KILLED IN ROLLOVER
Police had initially appealed for help pinpointing the moments leading up to the crash, suspecting the crash occurred either Sunday night or Monday morning.
Inspector Paul James said police were now confident they had established a timeline surrounding the tragedy.
“We’ve spoken to a number of witnesses and are satisfied that we’re aware of his movements leading up to the crash,” he said.
“We’re still working to establish the cause of the accident and are awaiting for some results.
“We have established he lost control on a dirt road, and we don’t believe there were any other vehicles involved.”
A number of people had told police the teen had been at a pub on Sunday night but there was nothing to suggest in the information given to officers that Mr Moore had been overly intoxicated.
Inspector James thanked the witnesses who had been in touch with police since the appeal for information last week.
Ongoing investigations continue to look at the role not wearing a seatbelt had in the collision, and whether other factors such as drink driving or speeding were involved.
“We thank the people for their co-operation,” he said.
