Police respond to armed offender inside Toowoomba property

An exclusion zone placed over multiple streets has been revoked after specialist officers responded to reports of an armed person inside a Toowoomba property.

An exclusion zone has been revoked after police were stationed outside a Toowoomba home amid reports of an armed offender.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said on Friday armed officers were on scene at Wombyra Street, Newtown.

An exclusion zone was put in place just after 3pm, with boundaries encompassing Hursley Road, Anzac Avenue, Wombyra Street, Edith Street and Holberton Street.

It was revoked 45 minutes later.

Police attended after a woman on a bike was injured and believed it was a gunshot wound after she thought she saw men on the Wombyra St property with a weapon.

Acting Inspector Paula Smithard told 7 News Toowoomba gel blasters were found on the property.

No one has been charged, and police are still investigating the matter.
