A Brisbane woman was threatened during a terrifying home invasion in the early hours of Thursday morning. Police were called to Katherine Street in Wakerley between 4:20am and 4:30am after a group wearing balaclavas allegedly forced their way into a home and confronted an elderly resident before fleeing.
A Queensland Police Service spokesman said the weapon used to threaten the woman could have been a knife, but was unconfirmed at this stage. Police said further investigations indicated the same group may have attempted to enter a nearby property in Katherine Street shortly before this but were unsuccessful.
Investigations are ongoing and police appeal to anyone with CCTV, dashcam or information to come forward.
