An anonymous post on the Tara Community Notice Board has slammed a community centre believed to be a hub for anti-vaxxers in the middle of town, and where residents claim Nathaniel Train had visited.
Nathaniel Train, now deceased, is the former Queensland and NSW school principal involved in the slaying of two Queensland Police officers at Wieambilla this week.
“I have to ask, I do believe in freedom of speech and everything but is the person responsible for this really going to leave it up with everything that has happened lately, maybe you could at least give it a rest while everyone mourns 3 innocent lives taken too soon due to paranoid delusions?,” the anonymous post read.
“The town is under intense scrutiny right now and there was no democratic process to decide you should speak for an entire town.”
Residents said that Nathaniel Train had been sighted at the centre on “more than one occasion” but when the claims were put to the owner of Turning Point she said: “I have never seen the Trains in my life – the centre is not anti-vax, it is pro-choice.”
A sign on the gates of the centre on the corner of Fry and Day St reads “Welcome to Turning Point. We have created these gardens so we can share information…”
Other signs and stickers plastered around the building read, “Support Pro Choice – Actively stand to fight for the right to choose”, “#COPS for Covid truth” and “We are a country in distress. How did democracy turn into dictatorship? By our compliance?!? Say NO or it never ends.”
