A woman who sparked a search operation in Ipswich floodwaters on Tuesday has been located safe and well.

Police said on Tuesday night a person identified as the woman who was seen entering the floodwater near One Mile Bridge in Ipswich West has been in contact with them.

Police received the report around 1.55pm and conducted inquiries in the surrounding area near the flooded Bremer River to substantiate the report, with emergency service seen searching the river.

“As flood waters in the area start to recede, police continue to plea for the community to help us ensure their safety by not entering floodwaters,” a police spokesman said.
