Terrifying footage has been released of a man carrying a meat cleaver during an armed robbery north of Brisbane

Terrifying footage has been released of a man carrying a meat cleaver during an armed robbery north of Brisbane, with police appealing to anyone who recognises him to come forward.

Police allege the man carrying the meat cleaver entered a business on Dohles Rocks Road, near Ogg Road at Murrumba Downs about 7.30pm on Saturday June 7 and threatened a male staff member before demanding money from the register.

The staff member complied and handed the money to the man. He then fled the scene with a quantity of cash.

Noone was harmed during the incident.

Police are appealing to anyone who recognises the man, or who may have dashcam footage in or around the area to come forward.
