A 29-year-old Logan teacher has been charged with two counts of rape and grooming a child under 16 years after a police investigation into indecent treatment of children across southside suburbs including Logan.
It will be alleged that Marsden High School teacher Jason Lee had used an online chat platform, believed to be Snapchat, to communicate with a 14-year-old schoolgirl, before they met twice in June.
A report was made to police on Wednesday, July 10, with detectives immediately conducting inquiries.
Following those investigations, officers executed a search warrant at an Underwood address on July 11, and the 29-year-old man was taken into custody later that day.
He was granted watch-house bail and has since been charged with two counts of rape, and one count of grooming a child under 16 years.
He is next due to appear in Wynnum Magistrates Court on September 16.
Detectives are continuing to investigate this matter further and are appealing to anyone who may have experienced similar to come forward.
