Sunshine Coast man critical, another flown to hospital after highway horror
A 19-year-old Sunshine Coast man has been left fighting for life after a serious crash in the Somerset region, while a South Burnett man was also flown to hospital.

A 19-year-old Sunshine Coast man has been left fighting for life after a serious crash at Colinton in the Someset region, while a South Burnett man was also flown to hospital.
Police said that around 7pm, a Ford Falcon sedan and a Hyundai Santa Fe SUV collided on the D’Aguilar Highway near Nurinda Road.
The driver of the Ford, a 19-year-old Glass House Mountains man, sustained critical injuries and was flown to Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
The driver of the Hyundai, a 38-year-old Hodgleigh man, sustained serious injuries and was also flown to the Coast hospital.
Two rescue helicopters, police and ambulance crews attended the emergency.
The D’Aguilar Highway was closed at Colinton and was expected to be for several hours as the Forensic Crash Unit carried out detailed investigations.
Motorists were urged to avoid the area and seek alternative routes.
Officers are investigating the circumstances of the crash and are appealing to anyone who may have relevant information or CCTV/dashcam vision to come forward.
