Two teenagers are set to appear in Cleveland Children’s Court today after a dramatic police pursuit ended in their arrest in Alexandra Hills.
Police allege three individuals threatened residents and stole a vehicle from a property at Wellington Point on Sunday night.
The stolen car was later tracked by a police helicopter, with officers monitoring its movements across the Redland area.
The pursuit came to a halt in Thornlands when police deployed a tyre deflation device.
The vehicle continued but hit a traffic island on Vienna Road at Alexandra Hills.
Two boys, aged 15 and 17, were apprehended at the scene.
Both teens have been charged with offences including unlawful use of a motor vehicle and are scheduled to face the Cleveland Children’s Court.
Meanwhile, officers are continuing their search for a third alleged offender believed to have been involved in the incident.
The police used co-ordinated efforts of ground units and aerial surveillance to bring the situation under control while minimising risks to the public.
Investigations into the theft and pursuit are ongoing, with authorities urging anyone with information about the third suspect to come forward.
