A Tesla driver has been savaged as an “ignorant pig” over their decision to park next to a busy petrol bowser while they ran in to a nearby KFC.
A post on the Cleveland, Ormiston, Raby Bay, Thornlands & Beyond Community group on Facebook showed the white electric vehicle next to a fuel pump.
Steven Lawie wrote alongside the image: “Parking your electric vehicle next to a petrol bowser in a busy BP station while you pop in to KFC to get a go bucket, just in case there is a shower of rain gets it wet (wasn’t raining at the time). Way of the future or just rude and lacking consideration for others?”
While there isn’t a specific fine solely for parking at a petrol station bowser, certain parking offences under Queensland law may apply, ranging up to more than $300.
Furthermore, non-EV vehicles that park in an EV charging bay can face fines of up to $2875.
Even an EV parked in a charging station but not charging can face the same fine amount.
Readers quickly took aim at the Tesla driver, some accusing them of making up their own rules.
Others called for swift revenge, while some claimed “Karens” should mind their own business and get on with their day.
