The male housemate of missing teenager Pheobe Bishop has been spotted sleeping in his car after his house was declared a crime scene and sealed off by police.
Detectives investigating the suspicious disappearance of Pheobe after she was supposed to be dropped off at Bundaberg Airport say they believe she never made it to her destination.
Her housemates James Wood and Tanika Bromley saying they dropped her there.
On Thursday local residents spotted Mr Wood sleeping in his car.
Footage shows him parked in a local park, while sleeping and snoring, his dog also lying in the back seat alive.
He has been given a notice to appear for unrelated weapons offences.
It’s not the first time Mr Wood has been seen in public. He fronted The Courier-Mail’s camera’s for the first time last week while attending his partner Ms Bromley’s court appearance.
He was spotted sporting dyed blonde hair and a large beard.
Outside court he was asked if he had anything to say on Ms Bishop’s disappearance, to which he responded “no comment”.
He was charged with one count each of unlawful possession of weapons Category D/H/R (short firearm) and authority to possess explosives.
Police allege a shortened firearm and ammunition was found in a Hyundai ix35 and the Gin Gin house at the centre of the search for Pheobe.
He is expected to front Bundaberg Magistrates Court on June 13.
His partner Tanika Bromley, was charged over weapons located in the car and is on bail.
She fronted media for the first time on Wednesday while visiting Gin Gin police station, as part of her bail conditions, which say she must report to police three times a week.
She entered through the back avoiding waiting media, which was different to others who generally walk through the front.
On Thursday she reported to police again but instead went through the front which was unattended instead having to call police link.
