Emergency crews have been called to the Sunshine Coast hinterland after a climber has reportedly become stuck on a popular mountain.
A Queensland Fire Department spokeswoman said firefighters received a call about 12.20pm today, June 6, that a person was stuck on Mt Beerwah in the Glass House Mountains.
She said three crews were on the way to the mountain.
Footage later captured the man clinging to the mountainside as a rescuer abseiled down to meet him.
Another fire spokesman later said it took crews about 40 minutes to rescue the man who was returned to the mountain base, with paramedics looking over him.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman earlier said paramedics had been called about a “male” climber stuck on the mountain and no injuries were reported at this early stage.
More to come.
