Police are probing the cause of a crash between a truck and a car at Morayfield that resulted in a man being rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Emergency services were called to Graham Rd near Alexandra Crescent about 3pm on Monday, where they found a man in a car trapped.

Initial investigations by the Forensic Crash Unit suggest a black Holden Commodore station wagon was travelling north-east along Graham Rd when it crossed onto the opposite side of the road and struck a truck near Alexander Crescent.

A Queensland Fire Department spokesperson told The Courier Mail they had to remove one side of the vehicle to remove the man.

Three Queensland Ambulance crews and critical care paramedics attended the scene, with Alexander Crescent and Graham Rd closed following the crash.

The driver of the Holden, a man in his 20s, was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a critical condition with life-threatening injuries.

The truck driver, a 24-year-old Daguilar man, was not physically injured, and is continuing to assist police with enquiries.

Police are appealing to witnesses or anyone with relevant vision to come forward.

Investigations are continuing.
