A young man has been left fighting for life after an incident at a workplace north of Brisbane.

A man was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries after an incident at a workplace north of Brisbane on Friday.

Emergency services responded to a reported workplace incident involving a truck at a commercial property at Gympie Rd, Strathpine, around 1.20pm.

It is understood a 22-year-old man was unloading a truck parked in the loading dock of a commercial facility when he was injured.

According to QAS, paramedics transported the man with life-threatening chest injuries to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman advised that police attended the incident and would be assisting Workplace Health and Safety with their investigation.

“Police and emergency services responded to a workplace accident at a business on Gympie Rd, Strathpine yesterday, May 23,” the spokeswoman said.

“Initial information indicates about 1.20pm a 22-year-old man sustained a serious chest injury.

“Police will be assisting Workplace Health and Safety with their investigation.”

A Workplace Health and Safety Queensland spokeswoman said WHSQ officers attended the site of the incident at Strathpine.

“Workplace Health and Safety Queensland were notified and attended the site of an incident that occurred at Strathpine,” the spokeswoman said.

“WHSQ are making inquiries into the matter.”
