Man dies in carport collapse at south Brisbane home

A man has died while another man has sustained a head injury following a structure collapse at a home in Brisbane’s south.

A man has died while another man has sustained a head injury following a carport collapse at a home in Inala.

Emergency services were called to a property on Goldfinch Street at about 10.18am on Saturday following reports of a structure collapsing at the address.

The scene on Sunday, where a man suffered significant injuries when a carport collapsed on Saturday. He later died from his injuries.

A man in his 50s with significant life-threatening injuries was assessed at the scene.

Police confirmed the man died from his injuries.

A second man in his 50s sustained a head injury in the collapse but was transported in a stable transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital.

Queensland Fire Department crews helped paramedics gain access to the collapsed carport.

A report will be prepared for the coroner in relation to the non-suspicious death of the man.

The resident of the home said they had lived there for about 25 years.
