Man charged over alleged indecent assault of woman at Fairfield shopping centre
Shoppers have thwarted an alleged sex offender's escape attempt after he targeted a woman at a Brisbane shopping complex.

A woman has allegedly been indecently assaulted at a shopping centre and a man has been restrained by members of the public after he tried to flee in Brisbane’s south.
Police allege around 10am on July 25 a 22-year-old woman was approached by a man while she was walking through Fairfield Gardens Shopping Centre.
The man allegedly indecently assaulted the woman and attempted to flee on foot but was restrained by members of the public and was subsequently arrested.
He also allegedly stole a number of groceries from a nearby store.
The 29-year-old Moorooka man was charged with one count each of sexual assault, stealing and common assault.
He was remanded in custody and is expected to reappear before Brisbane Magistrates Court on August 6.
