A major highway northwest of Brisbane has been blocked off due to a fuel tank leak on Friday evening. Emergency services were called to a crash on the D’Aguilar Highway at Colinton, just after 7pm.

Initial information suggests the tank of a fuel tanker had ruptured, causing fluid to spill on the highway.

The D’Aguilar Highway was closed in both directions while emergency services responded to the traffic crash.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area and expect long delays.
