An e-scooter rider has been caught on camera cruising down a busy motorway in Brisbane, enraging motorists who have called out the risky behaviour.
In photos posted to Reddit, dashcam footage has captured the moment the rider travels along the Riverside Expressway in the CBD, where posted speed limits reach 80km/h.
The rider could be seen travelling in the far left lane as cars look to be indicating to move around.
Commenters were quick to point out the illegal stunt and the “stupidity” of the rider.
“How stupid could somebody be to take this on the motorway. Just turn around and get off,” one commenter said.
“That’s so dangerous … I would not be looking out for a scooter whilst changing lanes around that area,” another said.
“WHAT IS THIS IDIOT DOING ON THE MOTORWAY????”
At the end of last year eight people lost their lives in e-scooter crashes, with close to 300 accidents within the 2024 year.
Police say teenage riders are most at risk, with three out of the seven people killed aged under 20.
Just last week, a man lost his life riding an e-scooter on the Gold Coast.
