A boat has gone up in flames on a Gold Coast river after a gas bottle aboard exploded in a terrifying moment.
Emergency crews rushed to a boat ramp in Jacobs Well following reports of a marine fire just before 5.30pm on Friday.
The boat, which was a 30-foot cruiser, was about 30m from the shore.
One man, who was on the boat, was assessed by paramedics on shore.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said he had suffered no injuries and was not treated for smoke inhalation.
A Queensland Police Service spokesman confirmed the blaze had been caused by the gas bottle.
Locals posted a video of the unfolding incident, which showed a marine rescue boat heading towards the blaze.
