Eight knives allegedly found in paper bag amid Operation Raze in Brisbane

A 49-year-old man faces multiple charges after police patrolling the streets of Brisbane’s inner-south seized items allegedly found in a paper bag he was carrying.

Eight knives have been seized after a man was allegedly discovered storing them in a paper bag in inner-Brisbane.

Police allege their Coorparoo general duties officers located eight knives and cannabis on a 49-year-old Kangaroo Point man just before 4pm during patrol along Logan Road in Stones Corner on Thursday.

The body cam footage released by police showed knives wrapped in a white towel inside a paper shopping bag.

The man has been charged with one count each of possessing dangerous drugs, offence to possess s4 medicine, possessing knife in a public place, unlawful possession of suspected stolen property (bank card), stealing and commit public nuisance.

He is expected to appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court on February 28.

Police also seized knives from two other alleged offenders on the same day across the city as part of Operation Race.
