Cyclist confirmed dead after crash with car at Calamvale

An elderly cyclist has died after colliding with a car on Brisbane’s southside.

An elderly man has died after his bicycle and a car collided outside a Brisbane school on Monday morning.

The crash occurred about 9.40am outside Calamvale Community College on Hamish St.

The rider, a man in his 70s, died at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle, a woman in her 30s, was assisting police.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
