CFMEU’s fiercest rivals to expose militant union’s dark secrets today

A Queensland union boss has broken down giving evidence at the Commission of Inquiry into the CFMEU, saying personal safety concerns were ignored by Queensland Police.

The Queensland Council of Unions secretary Jacqueline King has broken down giving evidence in the second round of hearings at the Commission of Inquiry into the CFMEU and Misconduct in the Construction Industry.

She said that in July 2024 AWU Queensland branch secretary Stacey Schinnerl had said she was concerned for her family and staff due to the “escalating” behaviour of the CFMEU and sought the help of the state’s top cop.

Schinnerl and King made a joint approach to seek help from police. But after speaking directly with both the Commissioner and a Deputy Commissioner, Ms King said they had heard nothing back.
