A boy who was hit by a car in the Sunshine Coast hinterland remains in a Brisbane hospital in a stable condition.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said multiple emergency crews rushed to Tunnel Ridge Rd in Landsborough about 4.05pm on April 17, following reports a “pre-teen” boy had been injured.
The rescue helicopter was also called and had landed, he said.
The paramedic spokesman said the boy had received “significant” head and chest injuries.
The helicopter landed on the road near the scene.
The LifeFlight critical care doctor and Queensland Ambulance Service flight paramedic worked with the other paramedics to treat the patient.
Paramedics said he was in a “potentially life-threatening” condition.
He was flown to Queensland Children’s Hospital in Brisbane.
A hospital spokeswoman said the boy was in a stable condition today, April 18.
A Queensland Police Service spokesman said the forensic crash unit had attended and an investigation continued.
