A crime scene has been declared at a home in Crestmead after a suspicious fire

A man and woman have been arrested and a crime scene has been declared after a suspicious blaze tore through a property south of Brisbane early on Thursday morning.

A man and a woman are being questioned by police after a suspicious blaze broke out at a home south of Brisbane early on Thursday morning.

Emergency services were called to the property at Price Ct in Crestmead at 1.30am on Thursday where they found the home well alight.

The roof of the house has caved in and the inside of the property is significantly damaged, with firefighters spending several hours trying to contain the blaze.

A crime scene has been declared, with police investigating into the cause and motives behind the blaze.

No one was injured.

A man in his 20s was arrested in Southport a short time later, along with a woman in Pimpama who is also aged in her 20s.

Both are assisting police with their investigations.
