A touching mural of letters and flowers has been placed at the scene where a 12-year-old girl tragically died in a scooter accident on Saturday.

Just hours after Summah Richards was identified as the 12-year-old girl who died in a e-scooter incident in Laidley on Saturday, teddy bears, flowers and heartfelt letters dedicated to her were placed at the scene of the crash.

Police believe Summah was travelling south on her e-scooter along Vaux Street at 3pm when she fell into the path of the grey Holden Barina.

Summah died at the scene.

One letter at the mural said Summah would be “missed by all her friends and family”.

“You had a great circle of friends. You will now be forever 12 and dearly missed by us all,” the letter read.

“I leave this note with flowers and gum in our memory of you. You will be missed forever by all your friends and family. God bless.”

“Miss you Summah I wish you were still here,” a second card stuck to a bouquet of flowers read.

It's understood her distraught family visited the site on Sunday.

“That was about thirty minutes to an hour after the accident. But she just fell to the ground crying,” they said.

“I didn’t see the crash – but I do know that there were heaps of people trying to help (Summah) when the crash happened.

“Police had to remove some people because so many were trying to help her. I think they tried to resuscitate her four to five times but it was just too late.”

A Go Fund Me has been set up for Summah’s family by friend, Stacey Ardrey, who said their whole world had been ripped apart.

Ms Ardrey said Summah was walking with her scooter when she tripped and fell.

“On April 19th 2025, Teigan’s 12 year old daughter Summah was out in the world living her best life doing what children do,” the fundraiser said.

“As Summah was walking her scooter, she has tripped and fallen into the path of a passing car. Summah as a result of this unimaginable accident has passed away.

“Summah was a remarkable young girl with such a vibrant spirit.”

Summah has been described as the kind of soul who lit up any room.

“Her playful nature was contagious, always ready to laugh, and bring joy to those around her.

“Whether she was popping up from behind a corner which she did often and with a mischievous grin or throwing herself into an adventure with pure excitement, Summah’s bright energy was boundless.

“Her love wasn’t just seen, it was felt. With her big brown eyes, full of wonder and kindness, she made everyone feel special.

“She had a heart that cared deeply, always looking out for others with a tenderness beyond her years.

“Summah’s ability to show love so freely and authentically left a lasting impact on all who were lucky enough to know her.”

Ms Ardrey urged anyone who had the capacity to donate to help her family send Summah off “to her eternal resting place”.

The driver and passenger of the vehicle were not physically injured.

The Forensic Crash Unit are investigating the circumstances of the incident and are appealing for anyone with relevant dashcam or CCTV footage to come forward.

Investigations are ongoing.
