Police charge 21-year-old who drives motorcycle through a Trinity Beach restaurant

A man has been charged with causing damage to a beachside restaurant and “narrowly” missing patrons after he crashed a motorcycle inside the popular venue.

Diners at a local pub in Trinity Beach had a narrow escape when a motorcycle crashed through the venue on Friday night.

Police allege the 21-year-old man from Yorkeys Knob, entered the popular venue on the bike, narrowly missing customers inside, before crashing the vehicle and causing damage to the business.

The man was arrested at the scene and has been charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a vehicle and adversely affected by an intoxicating substance, driving an unregistered vehicle as well as driving an uninsured vehicle.

He will also face charges of using or permitting use of a vehicle for which a number plate attached given granted for another vehicle and failing to provide a specimen of breath or saliva for test on requirement.

The Yorkeys Knob local is due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on July 23.
