Palmerston twins Harry and Thomas Manning charged over alleged drug dealing empire

Police allegedly seized a quarter of a million dollars from two 21-year-old men, alongside a drug haul 1300 times over the commercial quantity of one recreational drug.

Palmerston twins have been accused of running a small psychedelic empire out of a suburban home, with police allegedly seizing a commercial quantity of MDMA, ketamine and LSD and more than $250,000 in cash.

Harry and Thomas Manning appeared in Darwin Local Court for a first mention hearing, each charged with possessing and supplying a commercial quantity of drugs.

The 21-year-olds were arrested on Tuesday morning in a Driver home following a raid by Drug and Organised Crime Detectives.

Police will allege during a search of the home, officers seized 1.3kg of MDMA, 130g of ketamine and 19.5g of LSD, alongside $275,760, six mobile phone and other drug supply paraphernalia.

If proven, this haul was 52 times the commercial limit for MDMA, 195 times the limit for LSD and 1300 times the commercial limit for ketamine.

Police will also allege that over the past six months, the twins suppliedabout 5kg of MDMA throughout Darwin.

In his first appearance before Judge Ben O’Loughlin, Thomas did not apply for bail

His lawyer Joshua Begbie said it was possible the matter would be heading to the Supreme Court and asked for it to be moved to the preliminary examination mention stream.

Thomas’s hearing was adjourned to April 12.

Harry appeared before Judge Richard Wallace on Thursday but withdrew his bail application.

His matter was adjourned to April 19 for a preliminary examination mention.
